Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Former BJP leader TMC’s vice president Yashwant Sinha has been announced as the consensus presidential candidate of joint opposition. As many as 13 opposition parties met on here Tuesday to finalise the name.
Opposition leaders met at the residence of NCP chief Sharad Pawar in Delhi. The announcement of the joint candidate was made by Congress Rajya Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge.
Meanwhile, BJP parliamentary board is meeting later today to discuss the BJP-led NDA’s choices for the new president. The ruling combine has over 48 per cent vote share in the electoral college to pick the new president, and its candidate has a clear advantage over the opposition.
