Workers from several factories had gathered seeking salary hikes and better working conditions, but the demonstration soon spiralled into clashes, with incidents of arson, vandalism and stone-pelting reported. During the unrest, a police vehicle and several other vehicles were set on fire, while property was damaged in parts of Phase-2 and Sector 60. Police initially tried to calm the crowd but later called in reinforcements as tensions intensified. Senior officials reached the spot and heavy deployment was put in place to restore order. Officials said the DGP along with senior officers, including Additional Director General (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash, were monitoring the situation in Noida from the police headquarters control room here.
Authorities said the situation is now under control and that they are engaging with workers to ease tensions. They warned of strict action against those involved in violence and urged people not to believe or spread rumours.
The protests led to major disruption across the city, with road blockades causing severe traffic congestion and leaving commuters stranded for hours in key industrial and transit areas. The unrest is rooted in growing dissatisfaction among workers over wage disparities with Haryana, along with concerns about benefits, overtime pay and workplace safety. Despite recent assurances by the administration on reforms, workers continue to express frustration.

Local police and administrative officials reached the spot and initiated talks with the protesters. Efforts are underway to clear the road and divert traffic, but the demonstrators have remained firm, insisting on a written assurance regarding wage revisions.
The situation remains tense, with the blockade continuing as authorities attempt to mediate between the workers and company representatives.
Commuters traveling between Delhi, Faridabad, and Agra are advised to avoid the highway and use alternative routes until further updates.
