Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday said that any effort to create special townships in Jammu and Kashmir would violate the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, adding that the people of the state are resisting such a change.
“Any effort to create special and dedicated townships, zones or any other step to alter the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir is in violation of UN Security Council resolutions”.
To a question, Tasnim Aslam emphasised the need for greater collaboration among South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries to fight the issue of climate change.
Spokesperson of the Foreign Office Tasneem Aslam said that Indian held Kashmir is a disputed territory yet to be resolved.
Speaking to reporters, the spokeswoman said there was no information regarding a Pakistani boat allegedly carrying narcotics captured by Indian authorities earlier this month.
The FO spokeswoman also said that Pakistan was in touch with Italian authorities regarding the arrests of her nationals charged with terrorism in the European country.
