New Delhi: The change in the Congress party mood came around after Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav issued an ultimatum to the Congress party saying that his party would no longer support any disruption of parliament.
“The government must reach out to all opposition parties to end logjam in parliament. It is the government’s responsibility to end disruptions in parliament. We want the House to function and won’t support the Congress protest,” Yadav said.

The Samajwadi Party had joined the Congress party in boycotting the Lok Sabha while 25 of its lawmakers were suspended for five days. The suspension of the 25 lawmakers ended on Monday. The Samajwadi Party is not in favour of Swaraj’s resignation and agrees with the BJP that she had broken no law in the visa row involving the former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi.
The monsoon session of parliament is slated to end on Thursday with barely any listed business for the session completed, including some key legislations like the GST Bill awaiting debate and clearance. It is not yet known if the Narendra Modi government will extend the monsoon session or prefer putting the blame for the washout on an adamant Congress party.

The government has already deferred tabling the amended Land Acquisition Bill until the winter session as the parliamentary panel tasked to finalise the amended bill failed to complete its work in time due to suspension of the Congress party lawmakers.
The change in the Congress party stand after repeatedly asserting that parliament would not be allowed to function until Swaraj resigned came amid fears it would be isolated by other opposition parties.
